I have been attempting to get people active at the NYC General Assembly web forums to cross-coordinate working groups and create resource pools for information-sharing. In the future I would like to put together the necessary coding in Python to scrape all hyper-links from the NYC General Assembly web site for examination, organizing, and sharing. If others plan on doing this, please contact me.

A friend provoked me to list data-related resources I'm aware of for this NYC Data Without Borders event Oct 14-16. I will be adding more to this + more organizing.

I dug this up from my hard drive which was intended as a sticker for 2005 that never saw the light of day:

Generally, I think it creates more of a challenge to constantly bring up the world we want to develop and live in without knowing the world as it exists right now. Finding and organizing "data" that we can grow into intelligence about the world we live in will help us figure out the routes to approach what we would like to 'shape' towards a more positive direction for more people.

Exploration as well as research for me is a process of discovery.

From time to time I plan on posting examples of some minor finds from exploring various feeds and connecting the information to forms "new ideas."

A joke I came up with called the "iPatch: Remove your eyeball and insert an apple" refers to seeing through corporate consumer eyes (Superior Corporate Vision™).   Another joke was the Toilet Brain Probe Computer provoked from the photo below :)

I mentioned the iPatch joke to someone through email and they said "Ray Kurzweil talks about something akin to this in his predictions: 2020 - implantable brain chips let humans control electronic devices."

It's been a lot of work obtaining new employment so I am working on ways to increase my chances of getting a job.   My bio page is here.

At the 5:34 mark of this video, Daniel Mathews (a mathematician friend of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange) mentions how Mr. Assange introduced the idea(s) about starting Wikileaks and goes on to say that the original intent of Wikileaks was for it to be a place of participation where activists, journalists, intellectuals, and citizen journalists analyze and explain submitted documents.   It never developed into this kind of community which means that there is much work to be done in this direction.

The whole earth and humanity's inter-connected "supply chains" + "networks." The layers of data and chronicles of history, archaeological finds and mysteries where the map would be blank. The relationships between organizations, corporations, positions of power and money. The surge to know what has happened and what is happening is far too powerful for those desperately working to keep secrecy alive. Breakthroughs will occur. A dissolving of the limitations of deception is a natural and inevitable process. Those who resist will be caught in the undertow.

Four times I have remotely worked for an "employer" using the Internet as my pipeline and interface. Since 2003 I have had two occasions where I was hired without ever meeting my employers in-person prior to my hiring. There is freedom in remotely working online but it has also had it's long periods of isolation.
